Additive processes (I.e. additive manufacturing or 3D printing) use a formless material and transform it into a specific shape. This process does not depend on third-party forms or moulds and similarly to formative processes, also produces a minimum to zero waste. While virtually perfect, this process efficiency is dependent on the development of the technologies employed. The below subdivision is based in the ISO standard (Standard, 2012) and only features verified applications within stereotomic works.
