Pre-existing static base

This signifier is present when the stereotomic structure takes advantage of a pre-existing base that is capable of withstanding the vertical and horizontal thrusts that are exerted into it. Although the soil could be excavated in the shape of a negative of the springer so that it would be inserted in the base, a connecting element is often used to transfer loads between the structure and the base, bringing simplification and accuracy to the process.
